PESOTUM – Below is information for the visitation, funeral, and procession for Illinois State Police Trooper Corey S. Thompsen, killed in the line of duty on Friday, October 18, 2024.

 

VISITATION:

Head south on S Prospect Ave.

Make a left turn onto W Windsor Rd.

On October 18, 2024, Trooper Thompsen was finishing a traffic enforcement detail and traveling east on East Leverett Road. ​ As he approached the intersection of East Leverett Road and County Road 1300 E. around 3:42 p.m., a pick-up truck pulled out in front of Trooper Thompsen’s motorcycle. ​ A witness provided aid until first responders arrived and took Trooper Thompsen to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at 4:32 p.m. ​ The driver of the pick-up truck was cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way at a Stop Intersection and No Valid Driver’s License – Expired Less than 1 Year. ​
