PORT BYRON MAN ARRESTED AFTER ILLINOIS STATE POLICE CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE MATERIALS INVESTIGATION

PORT BYRON – An Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 2 investigation resulted in the arrest of 22-year-old Micah Ibarra of Port Byron, IL for five counts of Unlawful Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (Class 2 Felony) and five counts of Unlawful Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (Class 3 Felony).

In November 2025, ISP Special Agents received an online tip from a social media platform and began an investigation into the possession of child sexual abuse materials. Special Agents identified Ibarra as the suspect. An extensive investigation revealed child sexual abuse materials. On March 4, 2026, ISP presented the case to the Henry County State’s Attorney’s Office and an arrest warrant was issued. On March 5, 2026, the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested Ibarra. He was transported to the Rock Island County Jail and is now being held at the Henry County Jail.

The charges are not evidence against the defendant, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
