MEDIA ADVISORY - UPDATE

PESOTUM – Below is updated information for Trooper Corey S. Thompsen’s visitation and funeral. ​ As a reminder, the family has requested no media inside for the visitation, funeral, or burial. ​ We ask that you respect the family’s wishes during this difficult time. ​ Illinois State Police Director Brendan F. Kelly will provide a brief statement to the media at 2 p.m. outside the Visitation at St. Joseph-Ogden High School in the media area. ​ This will be the only availability for a statement on Saturday and Sunday. ​ ​

Visitation

WHEN: Saturday, October 26, 2024

1:00 - 5:00 p.m.

2:00 ​ p.m. Director Brendan F. Kelly will provide a brief statement at the media staging area.

5:00 p.m. ​ First responder walk-through. ​ You will be able to see first responders outside as they enter the building for the walk-through.

WHERE: ​ St. Joseph-Ogden High School

301 N. Main St., St. Joseph, IL

The media area will be located by the crow’s nest of the football field just northwest of the high school. ​ Enter off N. Elm St.

Funeral

WHEN: Sunday, October 25, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.

WHERE: Faith United Methodist Church

1719 S. Prospect Ave., Champaign, IL

The media area will be just south of First United Methodist Church in front of Bottenfield Elementary School. ​ You will need to park away from the church and school as law enforcement and funeral attendees will be parking at the church and school. ​ Parking is extremely limited. ​ You will be able to see the procession as it leaves First United Methodist Church and heads south on S. Prospect Ave. ​
