MEDIA ADVISORY

PESOTUM – The family of Trooper Corey S. Thompsen, killed in the line of duty on Friday, October 18, 2024, has requested no media inside for the visitation, funeral, or burial. ​ We ask that you respect the family’s wishes during this difficult time. ​ There will be media areas set up outside each location and media should set up in these areas only.

Visitation

WHEN: ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.

WHERE: ​ ​ ​ ​ St. Joseph-Ogden High School

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ 301 N. Main St., St. Joseph, IL

The media area will be located by the crow’s nest of the football field just northwest of the high school. ​ Enter off N. Elm St. ​ The law enforcement walk through will be at 5:00 p.m. and media will be able to see law enforcement enter the school from the media area.

Funeral

WHEN: ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ Sunday, October 25, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.

WHERE: ​ ​ ​ Faith United Methodist Church

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ 1719 S. Prospect Ave., Champaign, IL

The media area is to be determine. ​ We will provide more information when a location is identified. Parking is extremely limited.

Burial ​

WHEN: ​ ​ ​ Sunday, October 25, 2024 following the funeral

WHERE: ​ Patterson Cemetery

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ 1450-1454 County Road 2300 East, St. Joseph, IL

The media area will be located at the intersection of County Road 2300E and County Road 1475N.

There will be a procession from the church to the cemetery. ​ Below is the route.
