ILLINOIS STATE POLICE LED INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN STALKING AND OFFICIAL MISCONDUCT ARREST

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

May 8, 2026

CHERRY VALLEY – Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 2 Special Agents arrested 33-year-old Tyler C. Bryan of Cherry Valley, IL for two counts of Stalking (Class 4 Felony) and two counts of Official Misconduct (Class 3 Felony).

In March of 2026, the Cherry Valley Police Department (CVPD) requested the assistance of ISP regarding a complaint they received about one of their part-time officers, Tyler Bryan. It was discovered that the reported offenses occurred over multiple years while Bryan was both on and off-duty serving as an officer with CVPD, as well as serving as a full-time Deputy with the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office. Bryan has since resigned from both departments.

After a thorough investigation, ISP Special Agents submitted their findings to the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office, who issued an arrest warrant for Bryan. On May 8, 2026, Bryan turned himself in to the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed. ISP Zone 2 is asking any other possible victims or individuals with information pertaining to Bryan or these crimes to contact ISP at 815-987-7300. No additional information is available.

Tyler Bryan (M/33)

The charges are not evidence against the defendant, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
