Illinois State Police Investigation Results in a Forgery Charge

SALEM – Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 8 Special Agents arrested 38-year-old Elizabeth “BethAnn’ Parker of Salem, IL for Forgery (Class 3 Felony).
In January of 2026, the Department of Child and Family Services requested ISP investigate Parker after she allegedly provided falsified information indicating a juvenile suffered from an untrue illness.
After a thorough investigation, ISP Special Agents submitted their findings to the Marion County State’s Attorney’s Office. On August 13, 2026, the charge above was filed and ISP Special Agents took Parker into custody. She is being held at the Marion County Jail pending her first court appearance. No additional information will be shared at this time.

The charge is not evidence against the defendant, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
