ILLINOIS STATE POLICE INVESTIGATING OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING IN CARPENTERSVILLE

CARPENTERSVILLE – The Carpentersville Police Department requested the Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 1 to investigate an officer involved shooting.

On June 6, 2026, at approximately 12:03 a.m., Carpentersville Police Department (CPD) officers responded to a call of shots fired at a restaurant in the 1300 block of Kings Road in Carpentersville, IL. Upon arrival, officers observed a suspect actively shooting at a person and fired their service weapons, striking the suspect, who has been pronounced deceased. Two victims shot by the suspect were taken to the hospital where one is in critical condition and the other is in stable condition. No officers were injured. This was an isolated incident stemming from a domestic violence situation and there is no threat to the public.

This is an active investigation, and no additional information is available at this time. Once the investigation is complete, the case will be turned over to the Kane County State’s Attorney for review. ​
