ILLINOIS STATE POLICE CONTINUES TO UPHOLD PUBLIC INTEGRITY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

February 24, 2025

ROCKFORD – Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Zone 2 continues to uphold public integrity with a recent case involving charges against a former Jackson Charter School Executive Director. ISP worked with the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office to bring charges against 39-year-old Emily A. Wallen.

In September 2024, ISP received an allegation of theft and official misconduct against former Jackson Charter School Executive Director Emily A. Wallen. ISP immediately began an investigation into Wallen’s conduct and special agents found evidence Wallen knowingly used Jackson Charter School funds for personal gain during the time of her previous employment.

On February 24, 2025, after a thorough investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Wallen for one count of Theft $10,000 - $100,000 (Class 2 Felony) and one count of Official Misconduct (Class 3 Felony). ISP arrested Wallen, and she was transported to the Winnebago County Jail. There is no additional information.
