ILLINOIS STATE POLICE ARRESTS TWO MEN ON THREE FELONY COUNTS AFTER SEPARATE SERIOUS INJURY CRASHES IN CHICAGO

CHICAGO – Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 1 special agents presented two cases to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office on August 5, 2025, resulting in three felony charges. Both unrelated cases involved crashes where victims were seriously or fatally injured.
The first crash occurred on February 2, 2025. ISP troopers responded to a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian in the 8000 block of S. Lafayette Avenue, right off I-94 in Chicago. A white Jaguar struck a pedestrian and fled the scene. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries.
After an extensive investigation, ISP special agents identified 32-year-old Antonio Jackson of Chicago as the driver of the Jaguar. On August 5, 2025, ISP officers took Jackson into custody and the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved the following charges: Failure to Report Accident/Injury (Class 2 Felony) and Leaving the Scene of Personal Injury Crash (Class 4 Felony). Jackson is being held pending his first court appearance.

On August 5, 2025, ISP troopers responded to a fatal crash on I-94 southbound at 95th Street in Chicago. Preliminary reports indicate that a crash occurred and the driver of one of the vehicles, 47-year-old Alassane Tchandikou of Hinsdale, IL, exited his vehicle and was subsequently struck by a passing white Kia. Tchandikou was transported to an area hospital and later declared deceased. The driver of the Kia, 34-year-old Marques D. Worrell of Chicago, was also injured in the crash and taken to an area hospital for treatment.
On August 6, 2025, ISP special agents presented their case to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office and Worrell was charged with Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol Resulting in Death (Class 2 Felony). Worrell was arrested and held pending his first court appearance but has since been released. There is no further information.
The charges are not evidence against the defendants, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
