ILLINOIS STATE POLICE ARRESTS SPRINGFIELD MAN FOR POSSESSION OF CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE MATERIALS

SPRINGFIELD – Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Zone 4 Major Crimes agents arrested 26-year-old Justin Shull of Springfield, IL, for 10 counts of Possession of Child Pornography (Class 2 Felony).
In September 2024, ISP special agents began an internet crimes against children investigation in the Springfield area. During the investigation, ISP investigators assigned to the Office of the Illinois Attorney General Internet Crimes against Children Task Force (ICAC) gathered digital evidence indicating Shull possessed child sexual abuse material at his residence in Springfield. On June 18, 2025, ISP special agents arrested Shull and transported him to the Sangamon County Jail. There is no additional information at this time.

The charges are not evidence against the defendants, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
