ILLINOIS STATE POLICE ARRESTS ROCKFORD MAN FOR SOLICITATION OF CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE MATERIALS

ROCKFORD – Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 2 Special Agents arrested 32-year-old Nicholas Ortiz-Hansen of Rockford, IL for one count of Solicitation of Child Sex Abuse Material (Class 2 Felony), one count of Grooming (Class 4 Felony), and one count of Enticement of a Child to Remove Clothes (Class A Misdemeanor).

On October 2, 2025, ISP Special Agents executed a search warrant at Ortiz-Hansen’s residence in the 5000 block of Alma Drive in Rockford and collected electronic evidence. The evidence was analyzed and revealed child sexual abuse materials.

On October 8, 2025, ISP Special Agents arrested Ortiz-Hansen on the above-mentioned charges, and he was transported to the Winnebago County Jail where he remains in custody.

The Rockford Police Department, Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Freeport Police Department, Loves Park Police Department, and the Illinois Attorney General’s Office assisted with the investigation. There is no further information.

The charges are not evidence against the defendant, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
