ILLINOIS STATE POLICE ARRESTS PARK CITY POLICE OFFICER FOR AGGRAVATED CRIMINAL SEXUAL ABUSE

CHICAGO – Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 1 Special Agents arrested 29-year-old Patrick Cacho of Kenosha, Wisconsin after being investigated for Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse while on duty as a police officer.

On January 28, 2026, the Park City Police Department requested ISP investigate a criminal sexual assault allegation by a civilian against one of their part-time officers. ISP Special Agents conducted several interviews and obtained search warrants for further evidence.

On April 28, 2026, ISP Special Agents presented the case to the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office. The Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office subsequently approved 10 felony charges against Cacho, including four counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse (Class 2 Felony), two counts of Aggravated Battery (Class 3 Felony), two counts of Official Misconduct (Class 3 Felony), and two counts of Criminal Sexual Abuse (Class 4 Felony). Cacho is being held at the Lake County Jail pending his first court appearance. No further information is available.

The charges are not evidence against the defendant, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
