Illinois State Police Arrests Morrison Man for Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault

MORRISON – Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 2 Special Agents arrested 53-year-old Brian S. Coers of Morrison, IL for three counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault (Class X Felony).
In May of 2026, ISP opened an investigation after receiving allegations of sexual crimes that had taken place in Wisconsin and Illinois. Officers identified Coers as a suspect. On August 5, 2026, ISP Special Agents executed a search warrant at his residence in the 500 block of Barden Street in Morrison. Coers was arrested on an arrest warrant for Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault and additional electronic devices were collected. The devices are pending examination, and additional charges may be forthcoming. Coers was held at the Whiteside County Jail for the initial Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault charges.
The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office in Wisconsin, Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, the Savanna Police Department, Morrison Police Department, FBI (Madison, WI), ISP SWAT, ISP Patrol, and the Illinois Attorney General’s Office of Forensics assisted with the investigation.

The charges are not evidence against the defendant, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
