ILLINOIS STATE POLICE ARRESTS MORGAN COUNTY MAN FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE MATERIALS CHARGES

APRIL 24, 2026

SPRINGFIELD – Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Special Agents arrested 88-year-old Robert Crowe of Jacksonville, Illinois for one count of Dissemination of Child Sexual Abuse Material (Class X Felony) and one count of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (Class 2 Felony).

On October 15, 2025, ISP DCI Zone 4 Special Agents initiated an investigation after learning a subject was possessing and disseminating child sexual abuse material. ​ During the investigation, ISP Special Agents assigned to the Office of the Illinois Attorney General Internet Crimes against Children Task Force (ICAC) gathered digital evidence indicating that Crowe possessed and disseminated child sexual abuse material at his residence in Morgan County.

On April 23, 2026, the Illinois State Police Special Agents arrested Crowe and charged him with the above-mentioned charges. Crowe was transported to the Morgan County Jail. Crowe was later released from custody after his first court appearance and given a Notice to Appear in court.

The charge is not evidence against the defendant, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
