ILLINOIS STATE POLICE ARRESTS JOLIET MAN FOR ROAD RAGE EXPRESSWAY SHOOTING

CHICAGO – Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 1 arrested 22-year-old Kenneth Curry III of Joliet, IL, for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm (Class 1 Felony) stemming from a road rage incident in 2023.
On November 13, 2023, at approximately 4:18 p.m., ISP responded to the report of an expressway shooting on the Dan Ryan Expressway, Interstate 94 southbound near 120th Street. The suspect, later identified as Curry III, reportedly fired a weapon at the victim’s vehicle. The victim’s vehicle was struck multiple times, but the victims were not injured.
On February 3, 2025, ISP and FBI agents located Curry and took him into custody. ISP presented the case to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office and the above-mentioned charge was filed. Curry III is being held at the Chicago Police Department 5th District pending his first court appearance. No further information is available.
The charge is not evidence against the defendant, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
