Illinois State Police Arrests Golconda Man for Reckless Homicide After Fatal ATV Crash

DU QUOIN – Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 7 Special Agents arrested 28-year-old Trever Gallamore of Golconda, IL after a fatal crash in Pope County.

On September 12, 2026, the Pope County Sheriff’s Office requested ISP investigate a single-unit crash on Waltersburg Road near Rock Road involving an ATV that ran off the roadway. The passenger, 20-year-old Abigail Moore of Harrisburg, IL was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver, Trever Gallamore, was transported to an area hospital and taken into custody.

On September 14, 2026, ISP presented the case to the Pope County State’s Attorney’s Office and Gallamore was charged with Aggravated DUI (Class 2 Felony), Reckless Homicide (Class 3 Felony), Illegal Operation of an All-Terrain Vehicle (Petty Offense) and Improper Lane Usage (Petty Offense). He was held pending his first court appearance but later released by the court. No further information is available.

The charges are not evidence against the defendant, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
