ILLINOIS STATE POLICE ARRESTS EAST ST. LOUIS WOMAN IN FATAL HIT AND RUN CRASH

EAST ST. LOUIS – Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 6 Public Safety Enforcement Group (PSEG) special agents arrested 34-year-old Parshay M. Lewis of East St. Louis, IL for Failure to Report an Accident Involving Personal Injury or Death (Class 1 Felony), Failure to Stop after Having an Accident Involving Death (Class 4 Felony) and Failure to Give Information / Render Aid to Injured (Class A Misdemeanor).
On July 12, 2025, the East St. Louis Police Department (ESLPD) requested ISP’s assistance with a fatal hit and run crash in the 2200 block of State Street in East St. Louis. The suspect’s vehicle struck 35-year-old Coryesha Davis from East St. Louis, IL and fled the scene. Davis was transported to an area hospital and later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased. ISP special agents located the suspect’s vehicle and identified Lewis as a suspect.
On July 14, 2025, Lewis turned herself into ISP. On July 16, 2025, the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office filed the above charges against Lewis.
Lewis is currently being held at the St. Clair County Jail. No further information is available.

The charges are not evidence against the defendant, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
