ILLINOIS STATE POLICE ARRESTS CHICAGO MAN FOR WEEKEND SHOOTING

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CHICAGO-

Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 1 arrested 32-year-old Reginald Brown from Chicago, IL for Aggravated Possession of a Weapon by a Felon (Class X Felony) and Aggravated Fleeing to Elude (Class 4 Felony). ​ The charges stem from an expressway shooting on January 31, 2025, at approximately 11:10 p.m.

 

On the above-mentioned date and time, ISP officers responded to a non-injury expressway shooting on Interstate 94 northbound express lanes near 47th Street in Chicago. ​ ​ On February 1, 2025, a suspect vehicle was identified and located on Interstate 94 southbound near 91st Street. ​ A traffic stop was attempted but the vehicle failed to stop. ​ ISP units pursued the vehicle and with assistance from a Chicago Police Department helicopter, the vehicle was seen parking in the 2100 block of 98th Place in Chicago. ​ Brown surrendered to authorities and was taken into custody.

 

The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved the above-mentioned charges against Brown. Additional charges are pending. ​ There is no further information.

The charges are not evidence against the defendant, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
