ILLINOIS STATE POLICE ARRESTS CHICAGO MAN FOR ROAD RAGE RELATED EXPRESSWAY SHOOTING

ELMHURST- Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 1 West special agents arrested 27-year-old Juan A. Terrazas of Chicago, IL, for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm (Class 1 Felony) and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (Class 3 Felony) stemming from a road rage shooting last year.

On November 27, 2024, at approximately 6:49 a.m., ISP troopers responded to an expressway shooting on the Eisenhower Expressway, I-290 westbound near Lake Street. Following a road rage incident, the suspect, later identified as Terrazas, reportedly fired a weapon at the victim’s vehicle. The victim’s vehicle was struck, but the victim was not injured.

After a thorough investigation, a warrant was issued for Terrazas. On July 16, 2025, ISP special agents took Terrazas into custody and he is being held at the DuPage County Jail pending his first court appearance. No further information is available.

The charges are not evidence against the defendant, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
