ILLINOIS STATE POLICE ARRESTS CHICAGO MAN FOR 2024 EXPRESSWAY SHOOTING

CHICAGO-
Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 1 arrested 30-year-old Steve Turner from Chicago, IL for Aggravated Battery with a Firearm (Class X Felony) related to an expressway shooting on the Stevenson Expressway last year.
On March 25, 2024, at approximately 6:37 p.m., ISP officers responded to a reported expressway shooting on Interstate 55 northbound near Western Avenue in Chicago. The victim’s vehicle was shot at by the driver of another vehicle. The victim was struck by gunfire and was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. After an exhaustive investigation, agents identified a suspect vehicle and suspect.
On January 27, 2025, ISP agents took Turner into custody. Agents presented their case to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office and the above-mentioned charge was filed against Turner. Turner is being held pending his first court appearance. There is no further information.
