ILLINOIS STATE POLICE ARRESTS CHICAGO MAN AFTER DOUBLE FATAL CRASH ON I-90

CHICAGO – Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 1 Special Agents arrested 27-year-old Isaiah Olivas of Chicago, IL, for two counts of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence Involving Death (Class 2 Felony) and two counts of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence Causing Great Bodily Harm (Class 4 Felony) following a deadly crash on I-90 (Kennedy Expressway).

On March 15, 2026, at approximately 1:46 a.m., ISP Troopers responded to a crash on I-90 southbound at Randolph Street in Chicago. A Hyundai sedan became disabled and stopped in the left lane with four occupants. A Jeep, driven by Olivas, rear-ended the Hyundai. Olivas and the four occupants from the Hyundai were transported to area hospitals with injuries. Two of the Hyundai occupants, Rashad Dean and Nadinah Cunnings, were pronounced deceased at the hospital.

On June 1, 2026, after a thorough investigation by ISP Special Agents, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved the above-mentioned charges. Olivas turned himself in to ISP Special Agents and was confined at the Cook County Jail. ​ After his detention hearing, Olivas remains in custody. There is no further information.
