ILLINOIS STATE POLICE ARRESTS CALUMET PARK WOMAN AFTER FATAL PEDESTRIAN CRASH ON I-57

CHICAGO – Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 1 Special Agents arrested 25-year-old Qyeenie E. Neal of Calumet Park, IL for Failure to Report Accident/Death (Class 1 Felony) after a fatal crash on I-57 earlier this month.

On October 12, 2025, at approximately 4:38 a.m., crash occurred on I-57 southbound near 112th Street, involving a Honda sedan and another vehicle in the right lane. The driver of the Honda, 42-year-old Antonio Antenez-Espinoza, exited his vehicle after the crash and was then struck by a passing Nissan SUV. The Nissan did not stop after the crash. Antenez-Espinoza was transported to a local hospital and declared deceased.

After an exhaustive investigation, ISP Special Agents identified the Nissan and the suspected driver, now identified as Qyeenie Neal. On October 22, 2025, Special Agents located Neal and took her into custody. On October 24, 2025, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved the above-mentioned charge. Neal was held at Cook County Jail pending her first court appearance. There is no further information at this time.

The charge is not evidence against the defendant, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
