Illinois State Police Arrests Blue Island Man After Vehicle Stolen Off Car Hauler

POSEN – The Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 1 arrested 23-year-old Jose Gudino of Blue Island, IL for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle (Class 2 Felony) and two counts of Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding (Class 4 Felony) after an extensive investigation that spanned multiple south suburbs.

On May 26, 2026, at approximately 5:45 a.m., ISP Troopers responded to the Chicago Southland Lincoln Oasis on I-294 in South Holland, IL for a stolen vehicle report. An Audi had been stolen off a car hauler overnight. The Audi was later located at a business in Alsip, IL and Alsip Police officers attempted to approach the suspect, but the suspect fled and remained at large. Following an extensive investigation, officers identified the driver as Gudino.

On August 18, 2026, the Posen Police Department located a stolen vehicle. The stolen vehicle fled and eventually came to a stop near 134th and Halsted in Chicago. The driver, later identified as Gudino, fled on foot. Multiple police agencies assisted with searching the area and after a foot pursuit, Gudino was apprehended. ISP presented its case to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, and the above charges were filed for the original Lincoln Oasis theft. Gudino was held at the Posen Police Department pending his first court appearance.

Harvey Police Department, Blue Island Police Department, Markham Police Department, and the Chicago Police Department Air Unit also assisted ISP with the investigation and arrest.

The charges are not evidence against the defendant, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
