ILLINOIS STATE POLICE MAKES ARREST FOR FILING A FALSE POLICE REPORT IN EXPRESSWAY SHOOTING

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 3, 2025

CHICAGO – The Illinois State Police (ISP) arrested 53-year-old Carol Henton of Robbins, IL for filing a false police report (Class 4 Felony).

On March 28, 2025, ISP Troop 3 units responded to a reported expressway shooting on Interstate 94 southbound near 111th Street in Chicago. ISP troopers and agents conducted a thorough investigation and determined Henton and another vehicle were involved in a road rage incident. Henton reported to investigators that her vehicle was shot at, but investigators were able to determine no shooting took place, and the report was false. On March 29, 2025, the Cook County Assistant States Attorney approved the charge of filing a false police report and ISP agents took Henton into custody without incident.
