ILLINOIS STATE POLICE AND FBI JOINT INVESTIGATION LEADS TO CRIMINAL CHARGES FOR JAIL ADMINISTRATOR

EAST MOLINE – The Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 2 assisted the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Quad Cities Office with a Theft and Official Misconduct investigation involving a former Knox County Jail Administrator, 46-year-old Louis A. Glossip of Galesburg, IL.

In October 2023, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the FBI and ISP regarding a theft allegation involving Glossip during the time of his employment.

After a thorough investigation, the case was presented to the Knox County State’s Attorney’s Office. The following charges were filed: two counts of Theft > $100K (Class X Felonies), one count of Theft, $10K - $100K (Class 1 Felony), three counts of Official Misconduct (Class 3 Felonies), and one count of Forgery (Class 3 Felony). On March 11, 2026, Glossip appeared in court for a first appearance for the above-listed charges. There is no additional information.
