Officers recovered a stolen firearm and suspected heroin from a passenger. The passenger, a convicted felon, was booked into the Macon County Jail for Armed Violence, Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of a Weapon by a Gang Member, Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of Heroin Under 5 Grams, and sex offender violations.</p><p> </p><p>On May 7, 2026, Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an IVC. The vehicle fled the traffic stop and the driver later fled from officers on foot. Air Operations successfully tracked the driver and officers were able to take him into custody. During a search, officers found two firearms along with suspected cannabis and ecstasy.
